Signposts for Sustrans route 5 are all over the place! I know that it's a point where you can either go to Banbury or Oxford so they would point in opposite directions but if you follow the signs you go down the totally wrong road, then … [more]
Cycle way from Burford to the start of the road to Westwell. The A40 is busy and traffic is very fast, causing dangerous overtaking of cyclists. A cycleway would provide safe transition of cyclists from burford onto the country lanes.
Cycle path to make cycling safe along this section of the A40. The problem is the high volume of traffic and high speeds, making cycling scary and motorists often present with road rage.
Re-connect the old railway line to the upgraded bridleway here to provide a fast cycle commuting route from Whitney to Eynsham
Improve the very rough surface on this section of bridleway to permit it to be used as a fast cycle commuting route between Eynsham and Witney
Divert the existing bridleway onto the old railway line. This section of bridleway can currently not be cycled by anyone other than a cyclocross champion.
Restore the old railway line to replace the parallel bridleway. The muddy hill on the bridleway would be removed and cycling with an ordinary commuting bike would be possible
Remove newly painted give lines for cyclists at many minor field/house entrances. Cyclists should have right of way.
Very fast road and very dangerous for cyclists: needs a cycle path! Would link A4095 and A40 cycle tracks and link Eynsham to Hanborough rail station.
Gap here on A4095 cycle track from Witney to Long Hanborough. Needs a new path constructing between Common Road and Park Road.
The footpath between Talbot and bridge is too narrow for social distancing, and no space for cyclists to move further into the road to allow space for pedestrians.
Ongoing northbound cyclists required to give way to turning traffic. Road access by dropped kerb required before the bus-stop. Planners read your highway code.
There should be a south-bound cycleway here. Also the northbound one is too narrow for people & cyclists to pass.
One chap killed last year. Several injured over recent times and fast, heavy traffic, double white lines, no room for two vehicles and one bicycle abreast. Need an off road cycle and walking path
Allow local people from Combe and Stonesfield villages to cycle to Woodstock via Blenheim park which would avoid the need to use fast main roads.
Widening and resurfacing of A44 pavement/cyclepath between the B4437/A44 (Judds Garage) junction and Woodstock.
Cycleway/path through Blenheim for local residents (a cycling pass?) so as the A44 can be avoided whilst cycling to/from Woodstock and beyond.
From this point all the way to Woodstock, or to the junction with B4437 at Ditchley Gate/Blenheim palace, if Blenheim allow cyclists through their grounds to Woodstock. Our children could cycle to school safely, adults could commute via … [more]
Cycle path is narrow and in a unusable state. Very hard to cycle along A44. Path is either unusable or disappears through Woodstock or switches sides. Terrible route for a cyclist. Needs joined up thinking and then to be maintained.if you … [more]
Allow local people from Combe and Stonesfield villages to cycle to Woodstock via Blenheim park which would avoid the need to use fast main roads.
This bridle way (Eynsham to South Leigh) is very hard to cycle particularly other than in summer. This is a much safer and nicer route to commute to Witney, and if more suitable for cycles it would encourage much more commuting than along … [more]
Pavement is only on one side and too narrow for social distancing . It needs widening and the speed limit reduced to 20 mph or lower.
Narrow road leaving the town with no pavement. The road leads to footpaths and campsite and so there are often people on foot having to walk in the road. Pavement is needed
Narrow road leaving the town with no pavement. The road leads to footpaths and campsite and so there are often people on foot having to walk in the road. Pavement is needed
Narrow and non-continuous pavement forces pedestrians to walk close together. Wider, continuous pavement needed along this road
No entry from High Street forces cyclists to dismount and walk along narrow pavement close to pedestrians. A cycle contraflow would help here.
Cars travelling through narrow routes in the centre of Charlbury. Put a no entry sign to make this a no-through road except to buses
The narrow section at the top of corn street makes social distancing impossible for people walking and cycling. There needs to be less space given to motor vehicles to drive and park. Perhaps make it one way and paved
Roundabout difficult to cross for cyclists as cars don’t stop in the cycle band, and there is little visibility to cross (South side going East to West), plus North West side path is muddy and overgrown with vegetation
Road shared by cycling and pedestrian commuters incl children with narrow enclosed footway and >10,000 vehicles a day including frequent 6 axle hgv’s.
A cycle lane is badly needed from Stanton Harcourt to Eynsham. This B road is too dangerous to cycle on due to the constant use of it by haulage trucks who ignore routing agreements.
Dangerous. A shared pedestrian and cycle path way with insufficient room for both to pass at points, even without social distancing. Its on a hill with a fast road next to it with nowhere for a car to veer to avoid anything on the road. … [more]
Remove the parking spaces in this area to allow wider pavements around the bus stop and the Old Mill.
Closure on one of the northbound lanes approaching the junction with the A44 to allow wider pavements around the pinch-point on this corner.
Cattle Market could be closed to through traffic to allow more space for pedestrians around the Town Hall, Mash Pantry and The Fox pub.
The Green should have traffic restrictions during school times to avoid severe congestion on the narrow footways at drop-off and pick-up times, and allow people to walk in the road.
Pavements are far too narrow, road should be cut down to one lane, with priority signs or temporary traffic lights, to allow wider pavements.
Pavement along the top of the High Street could be widened by cordoning off the road where people park illegally during the day. This would give significantly more space for social distancing .
This road is impossible to cross at almost any time. Either a bridge or traffic light needs to be installed for pedestrians/cycling crossing
Greenery needs to be cut back to allow the full width of the path to be used, ensuring distancing - will be more important as the industrial estates get back to full operation
Create cycleway link from Carterton Road to playing field - would allow Brize Meadow/Carterton kids to get to primary school without going through dangerous and congested village centre
Close road to through traffic now that Downs Road roundabout is open. Reserve it for local access, cyclists and possibly buses too
